Moldova-Ukraine Joint Decision Making Committee to endorse Joint Operational Programme for Territorial Cooperation

Kyiv, October 3, 2014 - on October 6 the Joint Decision Making Committee (JDMC) inaugural meeting will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine to adopt the Joint Operational Programme (JOP) for
territorial cooperation between Moldova and Ukraine.

The representatives of the central governmental bodies, local authorities and civil society organisations from Moldova and Ukraine will gather in Kyiv to endorse the Joint Operational Programme. Members of the Joint Decision Making Committee (JDMC) will consider the results of public and inter-ministerial consultations on JOP that were held in the two countries. The meeting will focus on the objectives, priorities, common challenges of the Moldova-Ukraine territorial cooperation. Approval of the JOP paves the way to the announcement of a Call for Proposals tentatively scheduled for mid-November 2014.

The Joint Operational Programme (JOP) sets out the basic framework of the Moldova‐Ukraine territorial cooperation: main objectives and priorities, requirements for projects and beneficiaries as well as programme implementation modalities. The budget of the programme constitutes 3.3 million EUR. The programme covers Odessa, Vinnytsya nd Chernivtsy Oblasts in Ukraine and whole territory of Moldova. The inaugural Joint Decision Making Committee meeting is organized by the EaPTC Managing Authority – North and supported by the EaPTC Support Programme. The Co-Chairmen of the JDMC are Mr. Eugen Furculita, Councilor of the Secretary General of the Government of Moldova and Mrs. Maya Koshman,
Deputy Head of International Technical Assistance Department - Head of the EU Technical Assistance Unit of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.
