Young European Ambassadors visit schools and universities in Moldova

November 9, 2016

Young European Ambassadors are to visit schools and universities in Moldova this month as part of the new youth action network launched on 8 November in Chisinau. The Young European Ambassadors team will visit twenty five secondary schools, two universities and two vocational schools in Moldova to talk to students about EU values and cultures, study opportunities and volunteering.

During the visits taking place until 2 December, students will participate in a competition dedicated to finding the best project ideas. The competition aims to encourage young people to actively participate in the improvement of local communities. The competition allows young people in Moldova to cooperate with the Young European Ambassadors and to strengthen their English language skills.

The “Young European Neighbours” network is an online communication platform dedicated to the facilitation of ideas, information exchange and promotion of youth involvement in social actions. Following an open call process, over 100 young people from EU member states and the Eastern Partnership countries were recently selected to act as Young European Ambassadors.
The campaign is being implemented by the “EU Neighbours East” project and the “Visibility of EU and EU assistance in the Republic of Moldova in 2016” project, both financed by the European Union.

The “Young European Neighbours” youth network was launched in June 2016 by “EU Neighbours East” and focuses on strengthening cooperation between young people  aged 15-25 years with youth organisations from the EU and Eastern Partnership countries.
