TAIEX addresses state aid regulation in Ukraine

An expert mission of the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX) is visiting Kyiv, Ukraine on 23-26 February 2016 to assist with state aid regulation in the country. The experts will provide support to Ukraine’s Antimonopoly Committee, the Ministry of Economy, Development and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, reports TAIEX.
 
During the visit, three EU experts are meeting the representatives of the aforementioned state institutions of Ukraine and conducting a seminar on state aid policy and regulatory issues related to free economic zones and industrial parks. They will present the experiences of Ireland, Poland and Romania in this area. The TAIEX experts will also hold a joint working session with the Ukrainian State Aid team on the requirements of Chapter 10 of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement related to secondary regulations, including those on transport, steel, coal, audio-visual and culture.
 
TAIEX is the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission. It is a demand-driven tool that supports partner countries with regard to the approximation, application and enforcement of EU legislation. TAIEX Assistance is given through expert missions, workshops or seminars and study visits. In the Eastern Neighbourhood, TAIEX works with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.  (EU Neighbourhood Info)
