July 29, 2015

Mutual commitment to common values, in particular full respect for democratic principles, human rights and fundamental freedoms were among the issues discussed at the second meeting of the EU-Ukraine dialogue on Human Rights on 24 July in Kyiv.
The Ukrainian delegation was lead by Deputy Justice Minister Anton Yanchuk. The EU Delegation was headed by Dirk Schuebel, Head of Division for bilateral relations with the Eastern Partnership countries in the European External Action Service.
Both sides discussed and exchanged views on the human rights situation in Ukraine and on the country's commitment to achieving sustainable progress in this area, as well as the on-going judicial proceedings in Russia against Ukrainian citizens Nadiya Savchenko, Oleh Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko.
