Energy Efficiency Week in Belarus: 1,000 children from Braslau participated

December 15, 2017

More than 1,000 children participated in thematic lectures and events, organised in the framework of Energy Efficiency Week in the Belarusian town of Braslau. They learned about how to save energy, make the town more environmentally friendly, and help reverse climate change by taking simple steps in their own lives.

Energy Efficiency Week was organised as part of Braslau’s participation in the EU-funded “Covenant of Mayors – Demonstration Projects” programme. The week also hosted educational campaigns, thematic exhibitions and quizzes on energy efficiency topics.

Covenant of Mayors – Demonstration Projects (CoM-DeP) is an EU programme in the Eastern Partnership countries that supports small towns that have signed up to the Covenant of Mayors initiative to implement energy efficiency projects identified within their Sustainable Energy Action Plans. The CoM-DeP support team currently provides grants to 19 selected projects, as well as technical, procedural and communication assistance.
