Belarus: EU project photo exhibition opens in Pinsk

September 28, 2016

The ‘Faces of EU Projects’ Photo Exhibition, jointly developed by the EU Delegation to Belarus and the EU-funded OPEN Neighbourhood Programme, has moved on to Pinsk, opening in the southern Belarusian city on 26 September. This open-air exhibition presents 27 EU-funded projects, which cover different ecological, economic and social aspects of people’s lives. Every picture tells the story of a person, who has contributed to the improvement of quality of life in their own town or village. The photographs highlight a number of role models, individuals who have dreamed big and helped with EU support to change life for the better in their communities.

The exhibition reflects the many areas in which the EU has cooperated with Belarusian non-state actors, national and local authorities, in order to improve the quality of life of Belarus citizens, whether it be through assistance to hospice patients, protecting Belarus’ historical and cultural heritage or promoting energy efficiency. The exhibition highlights the work of volunteers and representatives of public organisations, scientists, teachers, farmers, prisoners and people with disabilities.

The hosts of the photo exhibition believe that visitors  will be inspired by the photo stories to join  their activities in the near future and maybe become the new heroes of the next photo projects.

This year the exhibition has already toured to Polotsk, Barysaw and Babruysk. In Pinsk, it will run until 8 October, and then will move to Lida on 8 November. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
