Armenia hosts Georgian and Moldovan colleagues for EU project exchange on agriculture and rural development

Representatives of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) from Armenia, Georgia and Moldova came together this week for a study tour in the Armenian capital Yerevan. The tour visited ENPARD project sites in different regions of Armenia, and exchanged experience on how the programme is Implemented in their respective countries.

 

Participants visited a number of EU supported projects: the Dprabak herb production cooperative, Tsovagyugh buckwheat production and processing plant, MerSarer Holding honey production, a high-value cheese production cooperative, and an organic agriculture cooperative.

 

Armenian, Georgian and Moldovan also colleagues met with representatives of projects implemented by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and Organic Agricultural Support Initiative (OASI).

 

The EU is providing financial support of €25 million over three years to Armenia as part of the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development – ENPARD. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
