European Union Promotes Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation

For the first time the Networking Meeting of representatives of six EaP countries – partners of the EU-funded Territorial Cooperation Programme (EaPTC) – successfully took place on the 27th of September, 2013 at the Riviera Hotel in Kiev.

20 representatives of state institutions from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, in charge of the EU integration issues, regional development and coordination of cooperation with European Union participated in the Networking Meeting. The objective of the Networking Meeting was to discuss the strategy of territorial cooperation along the boarders between Azerbaijan and Georgia, Armenia and Georgia, Belarus and Ukraine and Moldova and Ukraine as well as the approaches to development of the Joint Operational Plans, creation of Joint Decision Making Committees, their rules and functions.

The participants held the bilateral consultations in a framework of their specific territorial cooperation programmes, as follows: Azerbaijan – Georgia, Armenia – Georgia, Moldova – Ukraine and Belarus – Ukraine.

The Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Support Support Programme (EaPTC Support Programme) organized the Networking Meeting.
