Call for Proposals: EU boosts Territorial Cooperation between Armenia and Georgia

Tbilisi, November 4, 2014 – Territorial cooperation partners from Armenia and Georgia are invited to seek EU grants to address common development challenges in the bordering regions

Local authorities, communities and civil society organisations from Shirak, Lori and Tavush regions of Armenia together with partners from Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions of Georgia may apply for grants to implement joint cross border projects. Project proposals can be submitted, until 3rd of February, 2015, to the office of EaPTC Managing Authority South (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, 5 Elene Akhvlediani Agmarti, 0103 Tbilisi, Georgia).

Priority is given to joint projects aimed at enhancing regional competitiveness of agriculture and related sectors, raising touristic attractiveness of the border regions, solving cross-border environmental problems and enhancing local self-governance. Facilitation of multi-cultural dialogue and youth exchange across the border are likewise in focus of the Armenia-Georgia Territorial Cooperation Programme. The EU allocates 1.35 million EUR for the territorial cooperation between Armenia and Georgia.

The Managing Authority South together with the EaPTC Support Programme organises a series of the Information Days in the eligible regions of Armenia and Georgia. At the InfoDays the EaPTC experts will deliver detailed information about specifics and technicalities of the programme to all willing state and non-state actors. The InfoDays will take place as follows:

17 November 2014 at 10:00 in Rustavi, Georgia in Rustavi CCE Centre (USAID Centers for Civic Engagement) office, 22 Kostava Str.; tel: 341 22 22 03.
