“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one”: EU Study Days convenes an alumni forum in Ukraine

September 29, 2017

During 28-29 September, several hundred young people from all over Ukraine met in the country’s capital for the first EuroSchool Alumni Forum. Every one of them had participated in EU Study Days in the last five years. The events are organised by the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

Participants had the chance to network and share information about education, funding, and business opportunities. They engaged in discussions on reforming their country too. They also heard about career openings within EU institutions and other international organisations.

The EU Study Days are unofficially known as the ‘EuroSchool’. 850 young Ukrainians have attended since the first ‘school’ programme in March 2013.

“This is our investment in the future of Ukraine and its relations with the European Union,” said Jurgis Vilčinskas, head of the Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation.

“We cannot predict the paths these young people will take in life, but we want to show them how Ukraine can move towards Europe, its market, cultural, educational, and other spheres,” he concluded.
