Small steps to big dreams: Armenian – Georgian cross-border projects completed

“BRIDGING PEOPLE & COUNTRIES” – the brochure under this title summarizing successful achievements of the nine joint Armenian – Georgian cross-border projects was published and presented at the Closing Conference of the Armenia – Georgia Territorial Cooperation Programme in Gyumri (Armenia) on June 16, 2017.

The brochure provides information about the grant projects, including their main partners, activities undertaken, most significant results and lessons learnt as well as key long-run cross-border impact achieved.

Mr Vache Terteryan, First Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia underlined that “nine cross-border teams participating in the Programme can truly be proud of the remarkable results that contributed to the development of bordering regions and, undoubtedly, brought benefits to local communities. This experience was mutually beneficial: Armenian and Georgian partners learnt a lot from each other while working together”.

In his turn, Mr Irakli Matkava, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia confirmed that the “Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Programme Armenia – Georgia is an excellent platform to discuss the upcoming future of the territorial collaboration and exchange experience in the field of cross-border cooperation. It opens dialogue among all branches of national, regional and local government, with the engagement of all stakeholders - including private sector, civil society and media”.
