Kyiv to host Koktebel Jazz Festival with EU support

September 5, 2019

On 6–8 September, the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv will host the "Koktebel Jazz Fest", supported by the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

This year, the event will take the format of a “creative country retreat”. Koktebel Jazz Fest is the largest open-air music festival in Ukraine

Different stages will simultaneously host incredible musical performances by almost 70 bands and musicians, including Mike Kaufman-Portnikov, who will perform on the Vintage Jazz Stage. Meanwhile, the Koktebel Beach Stage, the residence of electronic music, invites attendees to participate in Lounge Yoga, with open yoga lessons led by the best instructors and accompanied by unique music.

Crimean rock will be among the musical trends of the festival, where fans of this genre will be able to listen to the band Shatur-Gudur.

The “Jazz Kids” stage will host interesting and useful workshops, including lessons in art and drawing. Covers of famous jazz songs will also be performed by the children’s jazz bands.

On 8 September, the event’s visitors will be able to watch a musical fantasy play called “The Musicians of Bremen”.

All activities of the Koktebel Jazz Fest will be held in partnership with the EU Delegation to Ukraine within the framework of the Project for Support of Cultural and Sports Initiatives in Ukraine.
