Georgia: Young European Ambassadors to engage with local youth in Kareli

June 6, 2019

On 9 June, eight Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) from Georgia and three from the EU will visit the town of Kareli and meet active local young people. The YEAs will organise interactive activities for around 40 local youth participants to discuss the EU and Eastern Partnership and share information on EU-funded opportunities for youth, including through its EU4youth initiative.

The workshop will also focus on how youth can be active in their communities and discuss the topics of energy saving and environmental protection. Following the seminar, its participants will take part in a quiz.

The YEAs from the EU will prepare an interactive outdoor activity related to awareness raising about the EU and values shared by the EU and its Eastern partner countries.

At the end of the activity, all participants will work on a social media challenge dedicated to environmental protection.

The ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and its Eastern Partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The YEAs are part of the Young European Neighbours network, an online platform that facilitates the mutual exchange of ideas and information on the EU, as well as the engagement of young people in informative activities. It is focused on people-to-people contacts and dialogue-driven activities that contribute to greater awareness and improved perception of the EU and the enhanced assessment of its relations with the Eastern Neighbourhood.
