Finland to share practice in customs risk management in airports with Belarus

August 10, 2018

On 15–17 August, Belarusian officials from the "Minsk 2" customs office will visit Finland to learn the country’s practice on standard controlling procedures for airport passengers. They will visit Helsinki International Airport, meet with airport officials and observe cargo, passengers and luggage workflow management and control.

The Belarusian participants will observe standard controlling procedures for airport passengers, and acquire information on the legal base and the organisational structure to execute controls. They will also learn methods of risk analysis on pre-arrival declaration and compare the working methods of the Finnish and Belarusian customs authorities.

This study visit will thereby assist the beneficiary institution in improving its organisational structure in airports and facilitate the transition to risk-based controls.

The event is being organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in cooperation with Finnish Customs.
