EU4Business takes part in Moldova Fruit Day

July 6, 2018

On 6 July, the Republic of Moldova marked its ‘Fruit Day’, as the country’s top fruit producers gathered in Domulgeni village, Florești district.

The EU4Business ‘Fruit Garden of Moldova’ project – part of the EU-funded DCFTA (Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area) Initiative East implemented by the European Investment Bank – took part in the event.

Organised the Moldovan association of fruit producers and exporters, Moldova Fruit Day was an opportunity to meet the country’s top fruit producers and get acquainted with new financing opportunities for investments.

The participants had the chance to present their products, services, technology and equipment. They also took part in practical and masterclass-style demonstrations in apple, plum and cherry orchards.

The DCFTA Initiative East – funded by the EU under the EU4Business initiative – aims to strengthen economic development in the countries which have signed an association agreement with the EU – namely Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine – by providing targeted financial and technical support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in these three countries.
