March 11, 2019

On 6 March, the implementing partners of the EU-supported European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) gathered in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi to mark the programme’s 20th stakeholder meeting.

The event was a good occasion to highlight the main achievements since the launch of the programme in 2013, and identify new opportunities for developing agriculture and improving the living conditions of the rural population in Georgia.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the ENPARD implementing partner organisations.

The event hosted a presentation on food waste, raising awareness of the issue in Georgia, and how to activate policy discussions to implement a framework of food donations.

The EU supports agriculture and rural development in Georgia through its ENPARD Programme. Implemented since 2013, with a total budget of €179.5 million, the main goal of the programme is to reduce rural poverty in Georgia.
