EU identifies the winners under Moldova – Ukraine Territorial Cooperation Programme

On February 1, 2017, the leaders of 16 cross-border partnerships will gather together in Chisinau for the solemn signing ceremony of the grant contracts under the Moldova – Ukraine Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Programme.
Preliminary list of the cross-border cooperation teams that will receive grants from the European Union for implementing their joint projects was identified and endorsed by the European Commission. 16 awarded projects are almost proportionally distributed among the objectives and priorities defined by the Programme: improving the living conditions of local communities, addressing common cross-border challenges, education, culture and sport.
The grant contract signing ceremony for the awardees will take place in Chisinau on February 1, 2017, at 14 p.m., with the participation of the high ranking officials of Moldovan and Ukrainian, central and regional executive authorities, EU Delegations, Managing Authority, representatives of civil society organisations, business circles, national, regional and local media etc. A press conference and interview session for media representatives from the two countries will follow the ceremony.
Prior to the signing ceremony, an introductory training for successful applicants will take place in Chisinau on January 30 – February 3, 2017. Participants of the training will receive a general overview and practical tips related to grant contracts and methods for implementation of projects as well as financial and procurement rules, visibility and communication issues, reporting and monitoring requirements, and also specific national requirements of each country. The training also provides for individual consultations on grant management issues for grantees.
