EU assistance to tourism development in Belarus in focus in new issue of ‘Eurobulletin’

November 10, 2017

The new issue of the ‘Eurobulletin’ issued by the EU Delegation to Belarus provides information about tourism development implemented with EU support in the country.

In the new issue, Daria Moroz speaks about Belarusian and international experts who have helped with the design of tourism development strategies and logos, as well as marketing and brand strategies.

The Belarusian town of Mscislaŭ is one of the nine participants of the Community-Led Urban Strategies in Historic Towns (COMUS) project, which supports restoration, preservation and further use of historical sites. In the Eurobulletin, Natalia Biskup from Mscislaŭ District Executive Committee gives an account of the town's progress during its participation in the project.

Meanwhile, Vitaly Varabey sums up the first outcomes of the ‘From Cradle to Development’ project, which is being implemented in Slaŭharad District in the period 2015-2018. The project aims at tourism development and the creation of a comfortable environment for tourists.

Irina Bogdanets also considers how Karma District plans to attract tourists to its “flax festival”, and Svetlana Biran explains what makes the district’s weaving and bread museums so interesting, and not just for local residents.

These are just some of the testimonials and success stories resulting from EU-supported tourism projects in Belarus which are featured in the latest issue.

The issue concludes with a summary of the latest news, including information on the allocation of €6 million by the EU for small and medium-sized business support in Belarus.
