Belarus: Young European Ambassadors to organise informal meeting with youth in Pinsk

June 10, 2019

On 16 June, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in Belarus will organise an informal meeting with youth in the city of Pinsk to promote educational, volunteering and internship opportunities available to the country’s youth through various EU programmes and initiatives.

This is part of the series of meetings, entitled “EU&U”, that have been organised across Belarus since September 2017. Previous meetings were held in Brest, Hrodna, Baranavičy, Polack, Viciebsk, Babrujsk and Homieĺ.

The aim of the meetings is to raise awareness among young people in rural areas of Belarus about opportunities offered through various EU programmes and initiatives. The speakers are young Belarusians who have taken part in these opportunities in the past and would like to share their experiences of applying to, participating in and following up on such activities and projects.

More information on the event and how to take part can be found here.

The “Young European Ambassadors initiative aims to foster cooperation and sustainable links between young people and youth organisations from the EU and its Eastern Partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

The YEAs are part of the Young European Neighbours network, an online platform that facilitates the mutual exchange of ideas and information on the EU, as well as the engagement of young people in informative activities. It is focused on people-to-people contacts and dialogue-driven activities that contribute to greater awareness and improved perception of the EU and the enhanced assessment of its relations with the Eastern Neighbourhood.
