Azerbaijani journalists to learn about modern media trends

June 8, 2017

The EU-funded OPEN Media Hub programme is organising two media masterclasses in Baku on 12 and 13 June. The masterclass will cover global trends in multi-platform reporting, integration of media platforms, writing for broadcast, print, online and mobile media and creating video and interactive content. The trainings will highlight the “mobile first” concept and will have a thematic focus on understanding and reporting on the European Union and relations between Azerbaijan and the EU.

The masterclass will be led by renowned British journalist and media consultant Mark Webster. Webster has over 30 years of extensive journalistic experience at the Financial Times and Independent Television News, including as Business and Economics Editor and Moscow correspondent, and has international journalism experience in over 100 countries worldwide.

The OPEN Media Hub Project aims at increasing the professional skills of journalists and media managers and supporting the production of audio-visual and online material in the EU Neighbourhood countries, which contributes to the development of independent media and the more accurate representation of EU policies and support to the region. The Open Media Hub Project is being implemented by a consortium led by the Thomson Foundation.
