Evaluation results of the Azerbaijan – Georgia Call for proposals reviewed in Tbilisi

On April 10, 2017, Tbilisi hosted the 3d Joint Decision Making Committee Meeting under Azerbaijan – Georgia Territorial Cooperation Programme. The members of the Azerbaijani and Georgian Delegations gathered together to discuss the evaluation results of the Call for Proposals launched by the EU on September 18, 2015.
The welcome addresses at the official opening of the event were delivered by Mr. Irakli Matkava, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, and Mr. Ruslan Rüstamli, Head of Cooperation, Ministry of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan. Representatives of the EaPTC Managing Authority (GIZ) and the EU Delegation to Georgia, as well as eligible regions of the Azerbaijan – Georgia Territorial Cooperation Programme also took part in the meeting.
Priority was given to projects aimed at developing cross-border synergies in agriculture and related economic sectors, building-up cross-border tourism potential and solving cross-border environmental problems, including emergency preparedness. Enhancing social inclusion through measures in the areas of culture, education and sports, as well as facilitation of development of links between youth from the bordering regions are likewise in the focus of Azerbaijan – Georgia Territorial Cooperation Programme.
The overall indicative amount under this Call for Proposals is 1.35 million EUR.
