EU boosts territorial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia

On September 18, 2015 the EaPTC Managing Authority South has announced the Call for Proposals for strengthening territorial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia aimed to address common development challenges in the bordering regions.
Territorial cooperation partners, including local authorities, communities and civil society organisations, from Ganja-Gazakh and Sheki-Zaqatala regions of Azerbaijan, and Kvemo Kartli and Kakheti regions of Georgia are invited to apply for grants to jointly implement cross-border projects.
Priority is given to joint projects aimed at development of cross-border synergies in agriculture and related economic sectors, building-up cross-border tourism potential and solving cross-border environmental problems, including emergency preparedness. Enhancing social inclusion through measures in the areas of culture, education and sports, as well as facilitation of development of links between youth of the bordering regions are likewise in the focus of Azerbaijan-Georgia Territorial Cooperation Programme. The overall indicative amount made available by the EU under this Call for Proposals is 1.35 million EUR.
Project proposals can be submitted until 17th of December 2015 at the address of the EaPTC Managing Authority South office (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, 5 Elene Akhvlediani Agmarti, 0103 Tbilisi, Georgia).
