EaPTC grant project supports Georgian and Armenian youth in addressing common challenges
September 1, 2016
On August 15, 2016 Armenian school students participating in the project “Youth voices for change and development” launched a series of meetings and discussions with their Georgian colleagues to develop and implement the ideas for joint small-scale projects, which will contribute to improvement of mutual understanding and involvement of local communities of the bordering regions in multi-cultural dialogue, as well as establishing friendly cross-border relations between young people of Armenia and Georgia.
Students are quite enthusiastic and have high expectations of the future joint projects implementation. The project scenario gives them freedom to pick and formulate local problems they count most important and feel able to solve them. In particular, children are concerned about local environment and ecological issues, road safety improvement and attracting tourists to their regions.
The project “Youth voices for change and development” is implemented with the financial assistance of the European Union in the framework of the Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Programme (EaPTC). It is aimed at supporting Armenian and Georgian youth in addressing common cross-border challenges.
