Summary of the action 

Objectives of the action

Overall objective of the project is to contribute to the development of joint tourism opportunities for the borderline regions of Georgia and Armenia (Samtskhe-Javakheti and Shirak) by the active participation of knowledgeable young people.

Specific objectives:

  • Enhance of knowledge of Georgian and Armenian young people about Shirak and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions and tour management skills;
  • New touristic products (guidebooks and routes) will be produced by the partnership of project participants.

Target group(s)Twenty young people from Georgia and Armenia, field experts.
Final beneficiariesKey players in the tourism sector, the population of the borderline regions.
Estimated results

  • Knowledge of Georgian and Armenian young people about Shirak and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions’ history, geography, culture and traditions, tourist potential, as well as tour management skills will be enhanced;
  • New tourism development products (guidebook and routes) will be produced by the partnership of project participants.

Main activities

  • Arrangement of two international camps for enhancing knowledge in tourist potential of both neighbouring regions, and developing tour (business) management skills of the youth;
  • Production of a tourist guidebook in three languages;
  • Development of international routes (Georgian-Armenian).
